C. David Whitson, Jr.

David is an attorney at Gray, Rust, Moffett & Brieske, LLP, focusing on general insurance defense litigation for commercial carriers. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

David grew up in Gainesville, Georgia and graduated from Piedmont College, with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion. He earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, where he graduated in the top 9% of his class, Magna Cum Laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, David earned a Health Law Certificate, with Honors; an Award for Academic Achievement in Health Law; and an Award for Excellent Performance in Lawyering Advocacy.

Before joining private practice, David worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as part of the COVID-19 Response and the Public Health Law Program. He later gained experience in insurance defense, residential and commercial real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate.

In his free time, David enjoys mountain biking, playing guitar, reading a good book, and spending time with his growing family.
